Term 2, Week 2

We have had another great week in Room 14.

This week we have been thinking a lot about our mums in preparation for Mothers Day.
Some people may receive some special hand made gifts this weekend.

It has been wonderful watching the children improving with their handwriting and spelling.
On Tuesday morning we had fun writing lots of words and sentences and trying to form all of our letters correctly.  Great progress everyone - there is a lot to remember!
This week was NZ Sign language week.
Jan came in to teach us some sign language and then we tried to sign the letters in our names.

We also learnt how to sing some songs using sign language.
Here are some you may know.

Students also found the sign hand symbol to represent each letter in their name.

Investigation time continues to be a highlight of the day.  We have so many wonderful Investigators in Room 14.  Here are a few of the things that have been happening this week.

We had swimming lessons again this week.  It was exciting to watch the children already becoming more confident and learning new skills in the water.
A special congratulations to Ashlynn and Blythe who were our swimmers of the week!
On Thursday we wrote about our mums.  Here are some of our superstars reading their writing.

On Friday we made some special Mother's day pictures.  Watch out on Sunday when we send a special Mothers day blog with everyone's amazing art work!
