Term 1 Week 11

Even though this was a short week, Room 14 still managed to cram it full of fun exciting learning.

Below this post is a Special Easter PMP session that was run by our amazing Adele and parent helpers. If you haven't had a chance to look yet keep scrolling down.

On Wednesday the students played a statistical game where they had to close their eyes and pick out a piece of coloured maths equipment and graphed the results finding out which was the most popular colour they picked.

On Thursday the students participated in a variety of Easter themed activities where they used all their fine motor skills to produce some amazing Rabbit pictures and hand painted easter eggs (not real eggs).

In the third activity, the students became word detectives and had to locate 14 different words on easter eggs that were hidden around the room. The students worked in pairs and had a great time being detectives.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very happy Easter and if you are travelling we wish you safe travels. We look forward to the start of Term 2 on Monday 1 May 2017.

Special Easter PMP

Today for PMP we had an extra special Easter special session where the students had been left a serious of clues which they needed to complete to get the extra special prize that the Easter bunny had left for them. The students showed great patience and turn taking. They were also able to display the amazing skills they have learnt through out the term. A huge thanks to our PMP organiser Adele and our wonderful parent helpers.

Term 1, Week 10

This week we have enjoyed reading the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Thank you to all the families who brought in versions of the story and who let their children bring their teddy bears into school.  We have had a great time with all our visitors at school.

The teddies bears and soft toys inspired some amazing descriptive writing in our classroom.

We also had fun using our measuring skills to measure bears of different sizes.  We used lots of classroom equipment to help with our measuring.  We then compared the height of some of the bears to how tall we are.
Lots of people were busy at the craft table making beds, chairs and various accessories for their teddy bears.

We also had some amazing story maps explaining the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  It was great to hear people acting out and retelling the story.

We are also always so excited to see children showing respect and being responsible.  Some ways we have seen this lately has been the way that children tidy up and also help out our new friends and visitors.

With this weeks words of the week being big and little, it inspired the students to work cooperatively to build towers, houses and roads as big as they could during investigation time.

On Friday we dressed up for our Sustainability theme.  The children made some wonderful creative costumes and accessories.

With Easter coming up next week Fridays Ready Steady Go activity had an easter theme. Check some of these amazing easter pictures.
